HISTORY
The Centre of Professional Training in Culture is a traditional institution that promotes training programmes for the development of human resources in the cultural field.
The involvement of the Centre in the life of Romanian cultural institutions is certified by its four decades of experience in training specialists in fields such as museology, library science, performing arts, conservation and restoration. Recently, our professional training offer was diversified to include IT and management programmes. Moreover, we organised seminars, workshops and conferences that established a connection between culture and education, technology and social life.
The Centre was established in 1964 in order to provide professional training for the personnel of cultural institutions. It was the first provider of cultural training in Romania. Throughout its activity, the Centre introduced important educational programmes, such as the courses in rare and ancient books, and started the Romanian network of restorers and conservators.
The restructuring of the Centre in 2005 marked the beginning of a process of updating and diversifying the Centre's programmes and professional training services, as well as the services related to the evaluation of professional competences and corporate consultancy. In 2006, the Centre organised 15 professional training programmes, certified at the national level by the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Protection and by the Ministry of Education, Research and Innovation. More than 2,000 individuals from almost 500 cultural institutions were trained. Another 2,000 individuals were evaluated and certified as translators, freelance artists and artistic agents.
